Apprentice Trailer Technician JOB ID 757

Our client is looking for a keen and mechanically-minded person to undertake an entry level apprenticeship as a Trailer Technician. This involves learning and working on heavy commercial vehicles including diagnosis and repair of suspension, air brakes, wheel and hub assemblies, anti-lock braking, lighting and electronic wiring and management systems of heavy commercial trailers. This position will suit a self-motivated person who enjoys variety in their work. Applicant must be reliable, willing to learn with a sound mechanical aptitude.

> Minimum Year 11 schooling

> Must be an Australian Citizen or have right to work in this country
> Tertiary graduates need not apply

Ai Group Apprentice and Trainee Centre is a Group Training Organisation who employs apprentices and trainees then places them with Host Organisations.  We provide support for all apprentices and trainees by way of our mentoring program which fits in with a regular cycle of visiting in the workplace and training provider.  We are there to assist and guide you through not only the apprenticeship/traineeship but where necessary provide support and assistance to allow you to successfully complete your work and training commitments and gain your qualification.
A Certificate III Automotive trailer Technician Apprenticeship will involve:
> Communicating with vehicle operators on problems.
> Repairing, adjusting, maintaining and testing large automotive vehicles mostly trucks and trailer equipment.
> Using special instruments to identify mechanic and electrical problems in vehicles, faults in ignition, batteries, speed control, cylinder compression, fuel injection systems, braking mechanisms, wheel alignment, and engine condition.
> Utilising an amalgamation of electric, oxy, MIG and TIG welding, machining or hand fitting processes to replace or fix faulty parts of vehicles.

This apprenticeship is a Skills Shortage Trade.
