Ai Group Apprentice and Trainee Centre, in conjunction with our host organisation; a long-standing full manufacturing facility situated in the inner Brisbane suburb of Milton, are currently looking to recruit a 1st year / 2nd year apprentice Boilermaker / Fitter to enter their fabrication workshop operations. They work supplying the mining industry with various products which they fabricate at their premises. Further to this they are also distributors of Isuzu marine generators of which they fabricate all their own components to suit the specific application.
The candidate that will be awarded the position will have the ability to work in the following areas:
> Fabrication and welding of the mining equipment including grout pumps and beam testing equipment.
> Fabrication and welding of general components required for generator sets.
> Fabrication and welding of generator frame bases.
> General fabrication and welding for jobbing work that comes through.

This is a full-time apprenticeship offering a Certificate III Trade qualification. Training fees, PPE, and other costs are all covered by Ai Group ATC.

Ai Group Apprentice and Trainee Centre is a Group Training Organisation who employs apprentices and trainees then places them with Host Organisations. We provide support for all apprentices and trainees by way of our mentoring program which fits in with a regular cycle of visiting in the workplace and training provider. We are there to assist and guide you through not only the apprenticeship / traineeship but where necessary provide support and assistance to allow you to successfully complete your work and training commitments and gain your qualification.

A Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade MEM30305 would generally be involved in:
The apprentice will generally work with heavy gauge steel: cutting, shaping, assembling and welding. Typically, they work for heavy engineering companies involved in the production, fabrication and development of items manufactured from plate materials, generally in steel of varying thickness but can be involved with non-ferrous materials.
The apprentice will construct or repair metal products by joining parts using a variety of welding methods either manually or by machine. These parts are used to complete structures and equipment. Welders may specialize in certain types of welding, such as custom fabrication, ship building and repair, pressure vessel welding, pipeline construction welding, structural construction welding or machinery and equipment repair welding.
