Opportunity in Engineering Mechanical Trade (Machinist 1st year)

Ai Group Apprentice and Trainee Centre, in conjunction with our host organisation a well-established south-side general engineering workshop located in the Acacia Ridge area are currently looking to recruit an 1st year apprentice Fitter/Machinist to enter their Machine shop operations.
They are well known for quality workmanship, quality service and on-time delivery. The range of capacity in CNC mill and CNC lathe fleet means they have the ability to handle small to medium batch production runs of parts or more complex one-off components and jobbing work for commercial companies working in the transport, infrastructure and mining industries.

The workshop is equipped with some of the latest state-of-the-art multipurpose metal cutting machinery, CNC plant, and equipment of the highest quality. The work environment is professional and fast paced. They operate an exceptionally clean and tidy workshop with a great team environment.

We are looking for motivated individuals committed to undertaking a career in the metals trade with a view of long term development to ensure products machined comply with customer quality requirements and on time delivery requirements.

This is a full-time apprenticeship offering a Certificate III Trade qualification. Training fees, PPE, and other costs are all covered by Ai Group ATC

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:
> Must be an Australian Citizen or have right to work in this country

This apprenticeship is in a Skills Shortage Trade.

A Certificate III Engineering Mechanical Apprenticeship MEM30205 will involve:
> Examine and evaluate drawings and specification for requirements.
> Operate and adjust metalworking machines and create parts or tools by turning, boring, milling, shaping, slotting, grinding or drilling metal stock or components.
> Fit and assemble metal parts, tools or sub-assemblies
> Cut, thread, bend and install hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines.
> Set up and/or operate hand and machine tools, welding equipment or Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) machines.
> Ensure accuracy and quality of finished parts, tools or sub-assemblies.
