About the role:
Is the sea calling you? Ai Group Apprentice & Trainee Centre are proud to work with an iconic South Australian brand, Kangaroo Island SeaLink. Working towards your Cert III in Maritime Operations, you will gain a dual qualification - Marine Engine Driver Grade 2 and Master up to 24 metres Near Coastal.

Some of the things you will do are;
  • Transport passengers to & from Kangaroo Island daily
  • Work with Engineers in charge to complete scheduled maintenance, replacing coolant, bellows, oil and refuelling the vessel.
  • Working in the Ferry café from time to time, assisting customers.
  • Engage in the daily operation, navigation, cleaning, security, and maintenance of ferries, wharves, and facilities as required.
  
Location/s: Cape Jervis or Kangaroo Island
Duration: 2 Year Fully Paid Traineeship
Hours of Work: 7 days on - 7 days off roster - Wednesday to Tuesday. This will include weekends and public holidays

About you:
  • Ideally you will live near Cape Jervis or on Kangaroo Island
  • Candidates need to be motivated, enthusiastic, and reliable 
  • Car and drivers licence (mandatory)
  • Must be able to competently swim
  • Comfortable working at heights and confined spaces
  • Must be willing to undertake the formal and on-the-job training whilst working towards their Certificate III qualification. 
  • Willing to undertake a drug & alcohol test if required
