Celebrating Apprenticeship Success in Queensland
We’re really pleased to celebrate the achievements of two of our Queensland apprentices, Kurt Ponton and Brock Owen-Cooper, who both officially completed their apprenticeships this past month.
Both Kurt and Brock have successfully earned their Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Machining). This is a fantastic step for both of them, and we’re incredibly proud of their dedication.

Kurt Ponton was hosted by Hillier Engineering Services. Kurt really applied himself throughout his apprenticeship, gaining valuable hands-on experience and mastering a range of machines at Hillier. You can see him here with John from Hillier, standing in front of some of the equipment he trained on. We truly appreciate Hillier Engineering Services’ commitment to nurturing talent like Kurt’s. Their partnership is essential in developing skilled tradespeople for the future.

Similarly, Brock Owen-Cooper, hosted by G & O Kert, has shown outstanding commitment and a strong work ethic from day one. Brock’s focus on learning and developing his mechanical trade skills has been clear to see, and his proactive approach has really set him up for a successful career. Our sincere thanks go to G & O Kert for their invaluable partnership and for providing Brock with such a supportive training environment.
The success of Kurt and Brock truly highlights the strength of our apprenticeship program, and it wouldn’t be possible without the incredible support from dedicated host employers like Hillier Engineering Services and G & O Kert. We couldn’t be prouder of Kurt and Brock and are excited to see where their careers take them next!
