Oh, what a night for our apprentices in SA
Five Australian Industry Group Apprentice and Trainee Centre (ATC) apprentices were honoured at the Apprentice Employment Network South Australia (AEN SA) Awards Gala Dinner in Adelaide last week.
The top award went to Josiah Lanthois, who was named Apprentice of the Year.
Josiah Lanthois – Apprentice of the Year
Josiah recently completed his electrical apprenticeship with Australian Industry Group member Mayfield Industries and now works full-time as a tradesperson. Supported at the gala dinner by his mum, Susy, and Mayfield’s Justin Cartwright, Josiah delivered a heartfelt speech during which he thanked his ATC Field Officer, Harry McCabe; the broader ATC team and Mayfield.
His award highlights the strength of the partnership between the ATC and Mayfield Industries in supporting apprentice success.

Isis Allen – 1st Year Apprentice of the Year
Isis, hosted to QPE Advanced Machining, has shown remarkable initiative and technical skill in her Engineering CNC Machining apprenticeship and has now progressed to her second stage.
She was joined at the awards by QPE’s Shaun Fachin and her mum, Cara — making the night a memorable celebration of her early success.

Ryder Feigert – 2nd Year Apprentice of the Year
Although Ryder couldn’t attend the event, his commitment was celebrated by the ATC team. Craig Hilton accepted the award on his behalf, sharing a story from Ryder’s Apprentice of the Month recognition where he was applauded for working on a construction site in pouring rain, focused and undeterred. Ryder is consistently praised by supervisors for performing well above expectations at his apprenticeship stage.
Robert Than – Runner-Up, 2nd Year Apprentice of the Year
Robert, hosted to Australian Industry Group member Vector Technologies, is setting high standards and demonstrating strong technical ability and professionalism in his electrical apprenticeship. There will no doubt be more opportunities for recognition for Robert before he completes his apprenticeship.

Josef Brown – Runner-Up, 4th Year Apprentice of the Year
Josef, hosted to Suez Group in South Australia, was commended in the 4th Year Apprentice of the Year category. Having recently completed his electrical apprenticeship, Josef’s recognition reflects the consistent excellence he displayed throughout his training.
These achievements are a testament to the hard work of the apprentices, the support of their host employers and the dedication of the ATC team in Adelaide.

Congratulations to all five apprentices — your success is an inspiration and a proud reflection of the ATC’s commitment to developing Australia’s future workforce.
