Celebrating Alex Goldsmith – Runner Up – Finalist at the 2025 AEN NSW Training Awards
We’re thrilled to recognise Alex Goldsmith, who was recently named a finalist and came runner up at the 2025 AEN NSW Training Awards. Alex completed his apprenticeship through the Ai Group ATC, was hosted to Power Plastics (Pact Group) and now works as a Maintenance Engineering Supervisor with them in Sydney.
Alex was one of the first participants in the Diploma of Applied Technologies Higher Apprenticeship Program. Throughout his training, he consistently demonstrated initiative and technical capability, progressing from apprentice to coordinator in a short time. His work has included robotic programming, CNC operations, and automation systems, with a focus on improving efficiency and safety.
During his apprenticeship, Alex was recognised as an Apprentice of the Month and was selected to participate in the 2024 Today’s Skills Tomorrow’s Leaders program in Canberra—an initiative that brings together emerging leaders from across the country.

Su Marr, representing Pact Group at the awards night, shared:
“We’re incredibly proud of Alex and the recognition he’s received as a finalist at the 2025 AEN NSW Training Awards. His growth from apprentice to Maintenance Coordinator has been impressive, and it’s a credit to his dedication and capability. We also want to thank the Ai Group Apprentice and Trainee Centre and the AEN for their ongoing support in developing future talent like Alex.”
Alex completed his Diploma 12 months ahead of schedule, navigating multiple training providers and remote learning challenges. His journey reflects the value of apprenticeships in developing skilled, adaptable professionals ready to lead in industry.
Congratulations Alex on all that you achieved throughout your apprenticeship, and we wish you all the best for your career ahead.
