About the role: Our Host Employer, Philmac based in North Plympton, has been working since 1929 to innovate and design plastic performance pipe systems. Philmac’s range of poly fittings and valves are designed to withstand Australia’s harsh environment and their Adelaide plant is continuing to grow their success. Adding a Toolmaker Apprentice to their workforce, you will;
- Learn to examine and understand detailed drawings and specifications to determine the requirements for the task
- Operate and adjust metalworking machines to create parts or tools by turning, boring, milling, shaping, slotting, grinding, or drilling metal stock or components
- Use hand and machine tools, welding equipment and CNC machines
- Cut, thread, bend, and install hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines
- Ensure accuracy and quality of finished parts, tools, or sub-assemblies
- Operate lathes, machining centres, sheet metal folders, and benders
- Learn a wide variety of welding practices including MIG, TIG, and Stick welding

About you: - Must be an Australian Citizen or permanent resident with the right to work in Australia
- Minimum completion of Year 11 High School
- Must be 18 years or older as you will be required to operate an overhead crane
- Driver’s License and reliable transport
- You will have an eye for detail and take enjoyment from a finished, quality product
