About the Role: Working alongside experienced tradespeople and full time trainers, you’ll be involved in projects that are practical, varied, and challenging. From day one, you’ll be learning by doing, not just watching.
This role is perfect for
recent school leavers or
those just starting out who want to gain a qualification while getting paid.
Your Responsibilities Will Include: - Assembly and fitting of hydraulic equipment and components
- Hydraulic and mechanical testing of systems
- Operating lathes, mills, and other workshop machinery
- MIG and stick welding
- Fabrication work including frames, brackets, and panels
- Using and maintaining hand and power tools safely
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings and workshop instructions
Location & Hours
- Altona North, VIC
- Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 3:30pm
- 37.5 hours per week
Apprenticeship Details:
- 4 year paid Apprenticeship leading to a Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering (MEM30219)
- All training fees and PPE fully covered
- Learn from qualified mentors and trainers on site
- Ongoing training and development, including access to specialist Hydac training centres (in-person, online, and VR modules)
- Exposure to big projects that give you industry ready experience
What We’re Looking For:
- Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Year 12 completion preferred
- Certificate II in Engineering highly regarded
- Interest in mechanical/hands on work
- Good maths and problem solving skills
- Passionate, consistent, and reliable with a strong work ethic
- Physically capable and keen to work with tools and machinery daily
