About the role:
Our host employer, Intercast & Forge is Australia’s largest iron foundry, proudly operating for over 70 years in Wingfield, SA. Their foundry stands proud at over 17,000m2 to supply the Australian market and exporting up to 70% of its products to 60 countries around the world. This exciting Mechanical Fitter Apprenticeship offers hands-on experience in mechanical fitting within a dynamic foundry environment. As an Apprentice, some of the things you will do are;
- Learn to maintain and operate key equipment such as moulding machines, sand mixers, and conveyors
- Use a variety of tools such as socket sets, Allen keys, hammers, impact drivers, grinders
- Assist qualified Trades with mechanical fitting, machine setting and fabrication tasks
What’s in it for you?
- Gain a Nationally recognised Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical
- All training fees and PPE are provided
- Mentoring from experienced industry professionals helping you complete your apprenticeship
- Be supported by a dedicated Consultant throughout your employment
- Access to the Australian Apprenticeship Support Loan to assist you with everyday living costs
- Australian Citizen or permanent resident with the right to work in Australia
- You must be committed to completing a 4 Year/Stage Apprenticeship
- You will have a mechanical aptitude and be a team-player
- Cert II Engineering is desirable
- Drivers licence & and own transport required
