The Opportunity:

Our client is a renowned precision component manufacturer with a global presence located in Elizabeth South. They service esteemed clientele across various industries such as Defence, Aerospace, Medical, Electronics, and Commercial Engineering sectors, both within Australia and internationally.

They are currently seeking to recruit an Engineering Mechanical Apprentice (Machinist). This opportunity is ideal for individuals passionate about hands-on work, machining, CAD (Computer-Aided Design), and inspection tasks. The role offers a comprehensive 4-year apprenticeship program aimed at honing skills and obtaining a recognized trade qualification in the field.

Duties may include:
  • Examining and understanding detailed drawings and specifications to determine the requirements for the task
  • Operate and adjust metalworking machines to create parts or tools by turning, boring, milling, shaping, slotting, grinding, or drilling metal stock or components.
  • Using various techniques which include welding, bolting, and riveting to align, assemble, and fix pieces together to create parts and structures.
  • Set up and operate hand and machine tools, welding equipment, and CNC machines
  • Ensure accuracy and quality of finished parts, tools, or sub-assemblies
About You:
  • Must be an Australian Citizen or permanent resident with the right to work in Australia
  • Completion of Year 10 High School
  • Drivers Licence desirable but not essential
  • Willing to undertake police check and pre employment medical if required
